Andrea Bocelli (born September 22, 1958) is an Italian tenor and one of the world's best-selling classical crossover artists, with over 80 million records sold worldwide. Renowned for blending opera and pop music, Bocelli became completely blind at age 12 following a football accident but went on to earn a law degree before pursuing his singing career. He rose to international fame after winning the 1994 Sanremo Music Festival and releasing his iconic song "Con te partirò" (known as "Time to Say Goodbye" with Sarah Brightman), one of the best-selling singles of all time. Bocelli's versatile repertoire spans complete operas, sacred music, and pop collaborations with artists including Céline Dion, Ed Sheeran, and Ariana Grande. Honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and numerous international awards, Bocelli is also a dedicated philanthropist through his Andrea Bocelli Foundation. His son Matteo frequently performs alongside him, continuing the family's musical legacy.
